Concrete Volume Calculator

Estimate concrete volume for a simple rectangular slab, pad or pour from length, width and thickness. Add a waste allowance to get a practical ordering quantity.

Built for a fast architecture workflow

  • Length, width and thickness inputs
  • Net concrete volume
  • Adjustable waste percentage
  • Total volume including waste
  • Results in cubic metres

How to use it in practice

A 5 m × 4 m slab at 0.15 m thickness has a net volume of 3.0 m³. With 5% waste, the calculator returns 3.15 m³ total.

How to use Concrete Volume Calculator

  1. 1

Enter the length and width of the concrete area.

  2. 2

Enter the concrete thickness in metres.

  3. 3

Set a waste or contingency percentage.

  4. 4

Calculate to see both net and total concrete volume.

Common questions

Should thickness be entered in millimetres?

The current concrete calculator expects thickness in metres, so 150 mm should be entered as 0.15 m.

Does the calculator account for beams or irregular shapes?

No. It calculates a rectangular volume from the dimensions provided. Break complex pours into separate volumes and combine them.

How much waste should I add?

That depends on the project, placing method, tolerances and ordering practice. Use a project-appropriate allowance rather than treating the default as universal.
