Architectural Scale Converter

Quickly convert a measurement taken from a scaled drawing into its real-world distance, or calculate the print percentage required to move a drawing from one scale to another.

Built for a fast architecture workflow

  • Convert drawing distance from mm or cm to real metres
  • Enter any scale denominator such as 1:20, 1:50 or 1:100
  • Calculate print percentage between two scales
  • Quick-load common architectural scales
  • Works directly in the browser

How to use it in practice

At 1:50, a 25 mm measurement on the drawing represents 1.25 m in reality. Moving a drawing from 1:100 to 1:50 requires printing at 200%.

How to use Architectural Scale Converter

  1. 1

Enter the distance measured on the printed or PDF drawing.

  2. 2

Choose the drawing unit and enter the scale denominator.

  3. 3

Calculate to get the corresponding real-world distance.

  4. 4

For rescaling, enter the original and target scale to get the required print percentage.

Common questions

How do I convert 1:100 to 1:50?

A 1:50 drawing is twice as large on paper as 1:100, so the resize calculator returns 200%.

Can I use non-standard scales?

Yes. Enter the denominator you need rather than relying only on the common-scale shortcuts.

Does this verify whether a PDF was printed at the correct size?

No. The math assumes the drawing has been reproduced at the stated scale. Always verify a known dimension when print scaling may have changed.
